David J. O'Connor
The firm's founder, David J. O'Connor, is an award-winning trial attorney whose trial skills and tireless work ethic were the cornerstones to his reputation of integrity and fairness in the courtroom. Those trial skills inured to the benefit of hundreds of clients and victims of crimes over the course of the past four decades. After almost 40 years of criminal, civil, and administrative litigation, Dave decided to turn the law firm's reigns over to his wife and business partner, Mona, who is now the managing partner of the firm. While Dave has decided to take on a “semi-retired” role at the law firm, he remains very active in a variety of legal, consulting, and teaching endeavors. He continues to oversee municipal prosecutions, participate in legal consultation on exceptional cases, as well as remain “of counsel” to the premier personal injury litigation firm, Cavanagh Sorich Law Group. In addition, he has also taken on substantial teaching responsibilities, including supervising state-wide trial advocacy training for Illinois prosecutors, consulting on officer-involved shootings, providing additional law enforcement training, and with great enjoyment he continues to teach and guide undergraduates at Moraine Valley Community College. Dave has taught over 100 criminal justice courses locally and has given over 150 legal presentations in over 20 states and Puerto Rico.
Although our roles at O'Connor Law Offices have changed, our commitment to our clients has not. Whether you're a past, present, or prospective client, we continue to promise all an honest, straight-forward assessment of your legal matter guided by the latest law and the highest ethical principles. Honor, professionalism, and integrity still mean something…at least to our firm.
